Fellowship Details:

Since its inception in 2019, the Africa Innovation Fellowship, in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering, has helped develop women-led STEM innovations across sub-Saharan Africa. The 2024 AIF program will span eight months, starting in November 2024, with a virtual masterclass series covering leadership, business incubation, and funding strategies. The program culminates in July 2025 and includes an in-person entrepreneurship bootcamp, expert guidance, and venture clinics to equip participants for investor readiness.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the 2024 WomHub Fellowship Program, applicants must:

  • Have a STEM-based business idea or early-stage startup located in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Be in the early stages of commercializing an engineering innovation with social or environmental benefits for sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Be a citizen of a sub-Saharan African country.
  • Have no prior alumni status with the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to entrepreneurship.
  • Be available for the full eight-month program (November 2024 – July 2025) and have a valid passport for travel between February and May 2025.
  • Identify as a woman and be over 18 years old.
